If there is one thing that makes GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Lois Cerullo stand out from the crowd, it is her wonderful (and sometimes wacky!) nail art! Sure, one could argue that the Brooklyn accent portrayer Rena Sofer has perfected sets the character apart from others on daytime television. But, as Sofer recently told the Associated Press, “The nails are such a part of who she is.”

To prepare for Sofer’s return to GH after more than 25 years, the actress worked with celebrity nail technician Amber Studer of Polished By Amber to create several beautiful nail looks for Lois! “I was asked if I wanted to make several different sets of nails for someone who was making a comeback on General Hospital, and her character was known for her nails,” Studer explained on Instagram. “Rena and I sat down for 3 1/2 hours and brainstormed, and went over her wardrobe. She explained to me how important her nails were and how she likes to match them to her clothes. We came up with some really cool and creative nail designs.”

When Sofer (and Lois!) returned to the soap in mid-October, this flashy red and gold manicure made its debut. “So excited to finally be able to share the first look of nails I made for Rena!” Studer gushed on Instagram.
